After a prestigious awards ceremony hosted by Auto Express columnist and TV star Tiff Needell, we are ready to announce the winners to the public! Trophies were handed out at the London event, attended by top-flight representatives from the world’s major motor makers.
The winners and commendeds in each sector are revealed in full in this week"s issue, from best supermini to top luxury model. There are also two more unusual prizes. The Driver Power award went to the most deserving manufacturer, based on Auto Express’s annual cus÷tomer satisfaction survey. The Special Honour was awarded for the most innovative idea, feature or vehicle.
And, of course, the most important category we’ve all been waiting for is our overall Car of the Year.
Judging took place over the past 12 months, with more than 1,000 new models tested on both road and track. Only after exhaustive evaluation were shortlists drawn up. And then, at a top-secret location, all the contenders were brought together and the final winners selected.
