The only way is up for...
The only way is up for Hyundai! In a bid to banish its budget image once and for all, the Korean firm has set its sights on stealing BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class customers with an all-new luxury flagship.
To bring the S60 up...
To bring the S60 up to date, styling cues have been taken from the recently introduced S40, resulting in a more contemporary appearance. There"s a new grille and rear light clusters, while the outgoing model"s black bumper strips have gone.
The S60 will get the same interior changes as the V70, while the chassis set-up of the performance-biased S60R will be available on lower-spec models, such as the T5 and the D5 SE. This option includes stiffer suspension, improved steering feel and a ride height that"s lowered by 30mm. Pricewise, a limited number of models will cost the same, but the majority of S60s are set to carry an increase of around í‚á£500.
Meanwhile, Volvo has announced that S40 and V50 diesels which meet Euro IV emissions regulations are now available to order for summer delivery - replacing the models which were launched only a few months ago. The new engines feature a particulate filter, but the cost has risen by í‚á£300, while economy is down 1mpg to 49.6mpg. Performance is unchanged. Prices now start from í‚á£17,668 for the S40 and í‚á£18,913 for the V50.
