This "youth car" has been designed to attract massive brand names, such as Apple, Nike, Nintendo and Sony, into the car industry.
The Rebel, aimed at label-wearing young drivers, has been constructed around a complex grid structure. This allows owners to completely customise their motor"s body panels in a vast number of formats. Companies would be targeted to brand their own design of panel and then sell them through their shops.
Three graduates of Coventry University"s Automotive Design course devised the Rebel concept. One of them, Edward Stubbs, revealed: "Buyers could get tailor-made panel units with specific functions, such as an LCD display, a BMX rack or a storage unit for running shoes. Virtually anything would be possible."
Aimed at the drivers of 2020, the Rebel has front seats that fold into the floor and combine with the rear section to make a bed. Stubbs added: "In theory, the multi-panel configuration would enable you to work, play and live on the move."
