The diesel variant, which covers 0-60mph in 10.6 seconds and returns 39.8mpg, gets a tailgate spoiler. Cabin revisions include better materials and instrumentation. Petrol models go on sale in November from í‚á£17,600, a slight increase over the existing car.

Long legs and longer pockets are the order of the day with this challenger to DaimlerChrysler"s Maybach executive cruiser. The new Mayfair is available with an extra 300mm or 600mm added to its body length, and has a panoramic full-length glass sunroof, fridge and TV/DVD player among its options list.
Soon to go on sale through London Land Rover dealer Stratstone, the Mayfair is available with a 305bhp 4.4-litre V8, 400bhp 4.2 supercharged V8 or 174bhp 3.0 turbodiesel. Prices range from ÷£100,000 to ÷£135,000.
