Slip your MP3 player inside the rugged plastic, and it’s ready to go in the centre console or glovebox. The maker claims the new cover is waterproof and will prevent dents. Yet despite the all-over casing, the iPod’s click wheel and headphone socket are still usable.

The Otterbox is suitable for 2GB, 4GB and 8GB colour versions of the Nano, while the company has cases for all other types of iPods. There are also protective covers for PDAs, Palm Treo, RIM Blackberry, Notebooks and Tablet PCs.
