The estate version of the Indica coincides with a minor facelift for the range, bringing its appearance more in line with that of the CityRover. There"s a new front end, while inside a digital display replaces the analogue dials. MG Rover is refusing to say whether these changes will apply to the CityRover. If they do, it will be after the new TATA model goes into production in May.

So Flux has set up a "text quote" service, whereby the customer texts "call me" to the special number 81232. A text acknowledgement is sent by Flux, followed by a call from an advisor within two minutes. The service costs 50p on top of whatever the text costs by the caller"s network provider. A typical quote for a new risk is estimated to take five minutes, sometimes more, so the text option could save money.

The new models - right-hand-drive...

The new models - right-hand-drive versions of the 1-Series and 3-Series - were heading from North Lincolnshire to Bracknell, Berkshire. First to spot them was Matt Austin, of Broughton, North Lincs. He snapped this picture at the same hotel where 15-year-old Harry Cadwallader spied the 6-Series cabrio featured in issue 775.

From there - presumably after the drivers had finished their round - the duo headed south before being caught by Grant Gibson from Bracknell.

The explanation for the trip is that BMW test drivers have a regular route taking in all manner of conditions, so that the cars can be tuned for UK roads. The 1-Series goes on sale in September, with the 3 due in showrooms early next year.
