The new Sebring four-door...

The new Sebring four-door family saloon goes on sale here in right-hand-drive form next year.

With a sculpted bonnet and bold grille, the distinctive front takes its cues from the Crossfire and 300C. A steeply curved window line and large tail-lights finish off the look.

Inside, there are standard drop-flat rear seats and an optional folding front chair. Available gadgets include an MP3-compatible stereo/sat-nav system with 6.5-inch DVD screen, a six-disc CD player and remote starting. A choice of four power-ful engines incorporates three petrol units: a 172bhp 2.4-litre four-cylinder plus 190bhp 2.7 and 235bhp 3.5 V6 motors. And for the first time in a Chrysler saloon there will be a diesel, in the shape of a 140bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.

All powerplants drive the front wheels, with range-toppers getting a new six-speed automatic box. Making its European debut at next month’s British Motor Show, the Sebring will be available to buy in mid-2007, kicking off at around ?15,000.
