The forthcoming Rolls-Royce...

The forthcoming Rolls-Royce Ghost is set to mimic more than the looks of its Phantom big brother ò€“ by carrying over its smooth ride quality, too.

Bosses have revealed the new car will use state-of-the-art ò€˜intelligent four-corner air-suspensionò€™ and multi-link aluminium front and rear axles. The suspension is designed to work with the various other electronic safety, traction and security packages to give the best possible ride and grip. Itò€™s so sensitive that it can detect a passenger moving from one side of their seat to the other ò€“ and adjusts the dampers to suit!

Having air springs also allows the Ghost to adjust its height by up to 25mm ò€“ to assist entry or exit and smooth out uneven surfaces. Set to cost Ò£180,000, the ò€˜babyò€™ Rolls has a new 500bhp turbo 6.6-litre V12 and sits on a modified version of the latest BMW 7-Series platform. More details will be revealed when the Ghost makes its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
