Korean firm Daewoo is...
Korean firm Daewoo is claiming a UK first for its all-new Lacetti, on sale now. Bosses reckon it"s the only volume car to have the option of DAB digital radio. The hi-tech Blaupunkt unit - a í‚á£295 option - also offers FM and MW, plus users can record the digital output. The three-model Lacetti range starts from í‚á£9,495 for the 1.4-litre SE, rising to í‚á£10,495 for the 1.6 SX. A 1.8 flagship variant will be launched at May"s British Motor Show.
The design of the Bravo...
The design of the Bravo, led by ex-MINI chief Frank Stephenson, is said to be complete. Inspired by the Grande Punto, it"s more attractive than the outgoing Stilo, and more practical too.
However, Fiat has faced problems with the chassis. The firm was expected to use Astra underpinnings, but Fiat"s recent split with Vauxhall parent firm GM means that is no longer possible.
If the rumours about the Fiat and Kia tie-up are true, it could mean the Bravo will share its platform with Kia"s ED. So far, there"s no word on the timing of the move - and no official announcement is expected until September"s Paris Motor Show.
