Research firm Synovate believes Brits are the second angriest drivers in the world, behind South Africans. A spokesman said: "It"s not surprising as we"re a small, congested country."

Chiefs from BMW-Sauber, Honda, McLaren-Mercedes, Renault and Toyota signed the deal. BMW chief and Grand Prix Manufacturers" Association chairman Professor Burkhard Goschel said: "This constitutes a comprehensive solution for the future of the sport. We can build on this result and make F1 into a bigger sporting spectacle than ever before."
