The auction on May 24th...
The auction on May 24th takes place at the National Trust"s Syon House, London.
Pride of place undoubtedly goes to the Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe. Built in 1929, and delivered to the head of a Chicago radio station at the height of the gangster era, it features LeBaron Sweep Panel Phaeton coachwork with running boards.
Also in the auction are a 1936 ERA/Riley Brooke Special single-seater race car, which featured in the 1938 South African Grand Prix and won the 1949 Manx Cup. Still being raced in classic categories, this model won the 2002 Trofeo Alberto Ascari and is estimated to fetch up to ÷£160,000 at auction.
A late inclusion is the No.47 Works Sebring 1964 MGB. According to the auction house, genuine lightweight competition roadsters with a great heritage rarely now come to sale - this one is expected to fetch ÷£40,000-50,000.
