The accolade meant the 350Z was entered into the prestigious European Auto 1 competition for new cars. Paul Willcox, marketing director at Nissan UK, collected the trophy. He said: "Since the launch of the 350Z the response has been phenomenal, and the car has consistently received positive reviews. To accept this award means a great deal to Nissan, as it reflects the opinions of Auto Express readers."
The 350Z proved a hit with the judges selected to decide the overall European Auto 1 champion, too. The Japanese machine was voted the top drivers" car in the seven-strong field, and also scored highly with the technical engineers thanks to its build quality. The Auto 1 winner was the BMW 5-Series, which also received an innovation award for its active steering system.
