Running a car has become six per cent more expensive in the past year, according to the AA. The breakdown firm"s Cost of Motoring 2005 report blames the rise on high fuel prices and used vehicles" falling residual values. An AA spokesman explained: "Motoring constitutes a major part of most people"s expenditure. However, it is possible to make savings if you take appropriate action, such as opting for a more economical model."
