Sirens are being removed...
Sirens are being removed from all non-pursuit patrol cars by Kent Police. Cops with only basic vehicle training will have to observe speed limits when attending incidents as part of an initiative designed to reduce the number of collisions involving officers. If successful, the policy could be extended nationwide. Meanwhile, when attending a road traffic accident all police will now have to record whether the driver was on work business.
The FXX is an outrageous...
The FXX is an outrageous 6.2-litre V12 single-seater that delivers more than 800bhp. Only around 20 will be made, and bosses claim it"s the most advanced GT they"ve ever created.
A spokesman told us: "Every client who purchases an FXX will be joining Team Ferrari. Their driving experiences will be monitored by our technicians."
The feedback gained will be supplemented by input from Formula One stars Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, as well as the Italian company"s in-house test drivers. The idea is to use the FXX as an ongoing research and development project for future models. As the car hasn"t been homologated for road use, it"s limited to circuits.
Styling cues from the sold-out Enzo project are clear, while the special tyres and ceramic brakes are from F1 partners Bridgestone and Brembo. But not just anyone can buy the FXX; owners will be selected by a Ferrari committee, with the first cars to be delivered by the end of the year. The cost is í‚á£1million, but that includes driver training, participation in exclusive track days around Europe and private race sessions.
Owners who leave their FXX at Ferrari"s Maranello HQ can even have it transported to events.
