Made of a canvas-like material, the box can be folded across its length for easy storage ò€“ this enabled us to squeeze it into an indoor cupboard. However, rigid base boards prevent you from shortening the length.
To keep the shape when fully extended, plastic bars slot easily into runners inside the roofbox, although they do take up some room.
On the road, wind noise was an issue, and the design is quite narrow ò€“ itò€™s ideal for skis, but less so for other luggage, such as suitcases.
Still, the box proved easy to fit. Not only is it very light, but U-bolts and clips lock it in place with no need for tools.
If you like winter sports, this Thule might be ideal.As a roofbox for general use, though, itò€™s flawed.
