So Flux has set up a "text quote" service, whereby the customer texts "call me" to the special number 81232. A text acknowledgement is sent by Flux, followed by a call from an advisor within two minutes. The service costs 50p on top of whatever the text costs by the caller"s network provider. A typical quote for a new risk is estimated to take five minutes, sometimes more, so the text option could save money.

And with a useful five-metre lead, it should easily reach the nooks and crannies of big MPVs and off-roaders. Unlike cordless rivals, it can be used for up to 30 minutes non-stop. The unit comes complete with brush and crevice tools, so is perfectly suited both to cleaning carpets and getting in between seats and centre consoles.

Sporting a larger front...

Sporting a larger front grille, more aggressive spoiler and updated alloys, the S60 is inspired by its bigger brother, the new S80. It will be better equipped to take on the likes of Saab"s 9-5 and the Mercedes E-Class.

The interior has also been given a revamp, complete with chrome details, one-touch indicators, a sporty steering wheel and optional leather trim. The updated saloon should now hold the road better, too, thanks to firmer suspension settings.

Full prices and details will be announced closer to the car"s on sale date. The current range costs from ÷£20,270 to ÷£34,865, but a slight increase is expected.
