We"re all looking at...
We"re all looking at ways to drive more effi÷ciently these days. But how many motorists believe a fresh set of tyres would do the trick?
Singer Benny Lee Thornton...
Singer Benny Lee Thornton penned the tracks, and police chiefs were so impressed they are looking to use them in seminars and educational sessions. Thornton, from Scunthorpe, North Lincs, told us: "I don"t drink and drive, but it"s constantly in your face on TV, so I thought I"d do something about it in my own way."
The two tracks are called "Pearly Gates" and "Drink and Drive", and one tells the story of a man who dies in a crash, leaving behind his wife and children. "I didn"t pull any punches with the lyrics," said Thornton. Humberside Police"s Chief Supt Graham Di Duca told us: "The songs get the message across. I"ve passed them to a colleague in the North Lincs Road Safety Partnership Casualty Reduction Task Group, so they may explore ways the tracks could be used."
