Renault has revealed the first official pictures of its all-new Kangoo Be Bop. Heavily based on the Kangoo Compact Concept, which was unveiled at last year"s Frankfurt Motor Show, the Be Bop sports an all-new sliding tailgate and roof, which makes for a full-on wind-in-the-hair experience for rear passengers.
The Be Bop"s cutesey features heavily echo the Twingo and, when it arrives in UK showrooms in spring 2009, it will be available with that stark two-tone colour scheme. Renault has also adopted some more subtle styling changes for the Be Bop, such as a 20mm higher ride height, 16-inch alloy wheels, black headlamp masks and a new set of bumpers.
Power comes courtesy of Renault"s familiar 1.5-litre dCi diesel unit in 85 and 105bhp guise, and the french maker claims that both versions will be capable of over 50mpg on a combined cycle. There"s also the option of a 1.6-litre 16-valve 105bhp petrol engine.
Despite Renault"s claims of plentiful interior space, the Be Bop can only house four occupants, but those in the rear do get a generous amount of room in between the seats ò€“ and unlimited headroom with the top down!
