Not one, but two all-new hybrids will appear on Kiaò€™s stand at the Paris Motor Show.
First up is a petrol-electric version of the Ceeò€™d hatchback, which company sources say will soon be taking part in ò€˜real-world test activitiesò€™ in Europe. Still officially a concept, itò€™s powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine and 20bhp electric motor which are mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
The technology includes Idle Stop&Go (ISG) and regenerative braking to help boost economy. Environmental targets are 58.9mpg and a CO2 figure of 114g/km, but as yet there are no production plans for the car.
Kia will also display a petrol-electric version of the Soul supermini-MPV. It uses the same powertrain as the Ceeò€™d, and returns figures of 57.6mpg and 117g/km. The show car comes with a electrically folding fabric roof, which company sources say could soon be offered as an option on the Soul.
