If they react too slowly, it warns them to take a break. Student Dan Ruffle, 22, invented the device as part of his course at Brunel University, Middx, and hopes a car brand will produce it. "It"s affordable and does the job," he said.

The current issue of the mag features an exclusive first sight of the open-top Spider version, which is expected to go on sale in the UK early in 2006. Similar to the outgoing 360 Spider, the new drop-top loses none of the visual drama of the F430, and will come with a fabric hood which folds electrically into a compartment in front of the mid-mounted engine.

Nissan has the need...

Nissan has the need for speed! As well as the Murano GT-C, the firm will also be giving its 350Z coupé a boost, too. And the result will be a machine that should give the Porsche Cayman S something to think about.

Instead of the twin turbochargers of the GT-C, Nissan’s engineers have bolted a supercharger to the 350Z’s 3.5-litre V6, which takes power from 296bhp to 375bhp. Called the GTS, the racy new concept gets a daring bodykit, upgraded brakes and new 18-inch alloy wheels, while the suspension has been stiffened to cope with the car’s extra power.

To keep weight down, the interior will be stripped of luxuries, and although performance figures haven’t been released, the car should cover 0-60mph in around five seconds and have a top speed in excess of 160mph.

As with the Murano GT-C, the 350Z GTS will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. A production version of the GTS could be available in limited numbers, with a price tag of around ÷£40,000. Also at Goodwood will be a 350Z built by the firm’s tuning arm Nismo, which won the 2004 Japanese Super GT series, plus the Primera saloon which took the 1999 British Touring Car Championship.
