Nissan has revealed...

Nissan has revealed the first image of its an all-new crossover concept - the Qazana.

Set to take centre stage at Geneva, it

previews a new small car that will start production in 2010. designed

to sit below the Qashqai and Murano in Nissanò€™s range, the car will line up alongisde rivals like the Kia Soul.

A sketch of the car here was released last summer when the Japanese firm first

revealed plans to expand its crossover portfolio. The design is

dominated by oversize wheel arches, with a roof and window line that

echoes the sporty 370Z. While a pair of ò€˜suicideò€™ doors, hinged at the

C-pillar will offer easier access to the cabin.

And itò€™s good

news for the British economy too ò€“ the production version of the Qazana

will be built at Nissanò€™s Sunderland plant, safeguarding around 1,100

jobs. It will take up the extra capacity created when the current Micra

ceases production in 2010.

But thatò€™s not all thatò€™s in store for Genevaò€¦ Showgoers will be treated to European debuts of both the 370Z and Cube.
