Nearly half of the 2,500 drivers it polled were unsure of the term ESP (Electronic Stability Program), while a quarter didn’t know bhp stood for brake horsepower. The results show that compiling a car advert isn’t simply a case of cramming in as many abbreviations as possible, and highlight the need to spell out information.
