Is it the end of mpg...
Is it the end of mpg as we know it? Certainly if Toyota and Honda have their way. They"ve teamed up to try and turn fuel economy figures on their heads. Instead of miles to the gallon, the companies want figures recorded the other way round. Both firms say gallons of fuel consumed per 1,000 miles is a fairer judge of consumption.
Called the Edition 10...
Called the Edition 10, the model differs from the standard car with special badging. There’s darker trim around the headlights and tail-lamps, plus a black chrome grille and bonnet vents.
The cabin has classy two-tone leather upholstery throughout, new sports instruments on the dashboard and metal pedals.
The Edition 10 has 20-inch alloy wheels and bi-xenon headlights as standard, too. Don’t expect to see it in the UK this year, though – sales of the M-Class started here in 1998, slightly behind the US, so the Edition 10 is scheduled to arrive in British showrooms midway through next year. It will be available with top-spec diesel and petrol engines, with prices still to be confirmed.
