Roadside recovery drivers are preparing to down tools at the AA. A number are expected to strike after claims some were working more than 14 hours a day. The AA argued its employees only do long hours in "exceptional circumstances". Road Services Director Steve Dewey said: "They could get held up in traffic while recovering a member."

Routes are displayed in a choice of four 3D perspectives and a bird’s eye view, and European maps can be added with plug and play memory cards. These include cities throughout France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

The ?199 G280 offers multimedia playback through its built-in speaker or headphones, while the G800 adds Bluetooth and an FM transmitter for ?315.
