As if the Veyron Gran Sport wasn"t a rare enough site already! Following in the tyre tracks of the Sang Noir, Bleu Centenaire and the Fbg par Hermes special editions, Bugatti has thrown the covers off another subtely different variant of the Veyron at the Pebble Beach Concours d"Elegance.
Called the Sang Bleu, it"s based on the roofless Gran Sport and forms part of the legendary marque"s centenery celebrations this year. The Veyron"s trademark two-tone finish has been achieved not with varying shades of paint, but by combining two luxury materials.
Tinted naked carbon-fibre weave makes up the blue section of the bodyshell, while polished aluminium offer the contrast. Even the wheels are finished in matching silver with midnight blue highlights. Newly-developed Gaucho-leather is a unique addition to the interior, too.
Mechanically the Sang Bleu is identical to the standard Gran Sport - that means the same quad-turbo 1,001bhp W16 engine sits behind the occupants heads.
There"s no word on price yet, but expect a significant premium over the standard Gran Sport"s ÷£1.1 million price tag. But you better get saving, only a handful will ever make production.
