UNLOADING new cars from a transporter is nerve wracking - but the most feared model for reversing on to the road isn"t what you"d think.
As car makers increasingly...
As car makers increasingly recommend specific lubricant blends for their vehicles, Halfords has expanded its range of own-brand products to match more requirements. The chain store, which already offers a part-synthetic fluid for Fordò€™s Zetec engine, has added three more products tailored to satisfy the demands of particular manufacturers.
Its Vauxhall/GM 5W/30 fully synthetic lubricant is Ò£37.99 for a five-litre pack, and meets the groupò€™s LL-A-025/LL-B-025 specs. Thereò€™s also a 5W/30 blend suitable for BMW and Mercedes models. It complies with BMWò€™s long-life ò€™04 and Mercò€™s 229.31 standards, and costs Ò£41.99. The VW and Audi version is to 504.00 and 507.00 requirements, and is Ò£41.99, too. All also come in two-litre top-up packs, from Ò£16.99.
The lubricants are claimed to offer great protection and fuel savings, and have been formulated for use in diesel or petrol units designed to meet extended service intervals. Using the wrong product can invalidate your warranty, but Halfords says it now has oil for nearly every car on UK roads.
