It has a new owner ò€“ and is celebrating by unveiling a fresh car! As the deal to transfer control of Saab from GM to Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg was being wrapped up, the firm released the first official look at the all-new 9-5 that goes on sale next year.

A spokesman revealed that GM would launch an Opel-badged version in mainland Europe next year. The model can"t be engineered for right-hand drive without raising the price, but Vauxhall MD Kevin Wale claimed there was every chance he"d bring it to the UK anyway. He said: "We would consider importing some LHD cars if we thought there was enough interest."
Wale added that he believed around 500 examples a year would be brought in, and rebadged with the Vauxhall grille and griffin insignia. The idea has already been pioneered with the Monaro, the aggressive coup탩 sold in its Australian home market as a Holden.
GM also showed the Sequel (second image), named because it"s a successor to the Hy-Wire fuel cell concept. It can do 300 miles between hydrogen fill-ups, and - with all mechanical parts set in a skateboard-style chassis - it"s got a very low centre of gravity com-pared to other SUVs.
