And VW, the jolly green giant behind its development, says it could hit the pumps as early as this year. The car maker says SunFuel, the latest synthetic petrol, can cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 per cent, dramatically reducing greenhouse gases.

Volkswagen is on a search and rescue mission! This is VWò€™s new Pickup concept, penned by a team led by ex-Audi design chief Walter de Silva, and set to go into production at the end of this year.

Designed by Aussie Matt...

Designed by Aussie Matt Thomas, a former member of the Stewart Formula One team, the car has been heavily influenced by the likes of the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40. Matt said: "We have made it as aerodynamic as possible, but wanted it to look like a traditional supercar so that it will appeal to a wide range of people." The machine is still under development, and is expected to go on sale late next year for around í‚á£250,000.

A new version of Hyundai"s...

A new version of Hyundai"s Sonata executive car is set to debut at the Paris Motor Show next month. It will hit showrooms early in 2005, along with a facelifted Coup탩. The firm will also open a new factory in Alabama, USA, next year - it will build the Sonata, Santa Fe off-roader and the flagship XG350.
